Terms of Service

The terms for using your RICE Financial workspace.

Using RICE Financial

These Terms of Service govern your use of RICE Financial ("RICE", "we", "us"), including the website, workspace and Help Center. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use the service for a business or another organization, you must have authority to act for it. Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

What the beta provides

RICE is software for organizing and understanding financial records. The current beta supports manual records, imports, documents and permission-based collaboration. It is not a bank, brokerage, lender, insurer, payment processor or substitute for professional accounting software. Recording a payment does not execute it. Roadmap items and the Vision page describe potential future work, not services included in your account or promised delivery dates.

The core beta workspace is currently free. If paid features are introduced, their price and applicable terms will be presented before you choose to purchase them. Creating a free account does not authorize future charges. Beta features may change, contain errors or be interrupted.

Your records and permissions

You retain your rights in the content you provide. You grant us the limited permission needed to host, process, display and transmit that content to operate the service and the features you choose, as described in the Privacy Policy. You must have the necessary rights and authority to upload information about other people or businesses and to share it with others.

Review access permissions before inviting people or publishing profile information. You are responsible for the sharing choices you make. Revoking access does not retrieve copies already downloaded by others. Do not upload someone else's credentials or use another person's account without authorization.

Accuracy, imports and AI

Balances and summaries depend on the records supplied to the service. Review imported entries, dates, categories and calculations, and reconcile important information against original statements. Keep independent copies of records you need.

Optional AI can produce incomplete or incorrect results. Review its output before saving records or making decisions. Information and suggestions from RICE are for organization and general information, not personalized financial, investment, tax or legal advice. You remain responsible for your decisions, payments and filing obligations.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, impersonation or infringement of others' rights. Do not attempt unauthorized access, bypass permissions, interfere with service availability, upload malicious code or exploit another user's information. Automated access must respect authorization, service limits and any applicable API terms.

We may restrict access, remove unlawful content or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats or legal requirements. Where appropriate, we will explain the action and provide a way to contact support.

Service ownership and third parties

RICE and its licensors retain their rights in the software, design, branding and other service materials. These terms give you permission to use the service, not ownership of it. Third-party software, websites and services may have their own terms and privacy practices.

Export, closure and deletion

You may stop using the service at any time. Export owned records through Settings > Data and download original documents separately before requesting deletion. The export does not contain every category of account information; see the Privacy Policy for its scope.

To close your account or request deletion, contact support. App sign-in is not required for the public support route, but account ownership must be verified before account changes. Deletion is handled by support during beta, and a submitted request is not an immediate deletion. We will explain the outcome and any retention or shared-record limitations. If we discontinue the service, we will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to export where practicable.

Availability and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the beta is provided as available without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose or error-free results. We are not responsible for losses caused by incorrect information you supply, permissions you grant or decisions you make independently of the service.

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable under these terms for indirect or consequential losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct or any responsibility or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and questions

We may update these terms as the service develops. We will display the updated date and provide notice of material changes through the product or email where appropriate. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not accept revised terms, stop using the service and contact support about export or closure. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.

For questions, complaints or account requests, contact RICE Financial through the public support page linked below. You can return to that page to view replies and track your request.
